Pepe wil in Madrid vechten voor zijn plekManchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has given the green light for the renewed hunt for Real Madrid defender Pepe, knows fresh sports to report. The club  last month tried to get the 30-year-old Portuguese to the Etihad Stadium, but City did not meet the 35 million euros Real asks for him at that time. Now Real Madrid needs money to fund the arrival of Gareth Bale, the transfer may well get close.
The fact that Matija Nastasić has currently a injury to his ankle, ensures that City
has made top priority of the arrival of a new central defender. The Serb is normally the first choice in the heart of the defense, but his injury makes sure that in any case he is out the coming weeks.
City was eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League last two seasons. Therefore Pellegrini considers it necessary to get more experience in the team. This view had the Chilean already before Nastasić had left the field on a stretcher last week during the friendly match against Sunderland.

Real Madrid will not just accept a departure from Pepe. Raphael Varane, who last season captured the place of Pepe in the center, is in fact for some time out because of an injury on his knee. The Frenchman will join  this week at the training of the Royal so it's not guaranteed that he is immediately ready for game.
In addition Pepe has itself stated that he is willing to fight under new coach Carlo Ancelotti. PEPE : I have signed a contract with Real Madrid. My future is in the hands of the President. I want to do good work and just do my best for the team. I'll fight for my place in the team ", said the Portuguese international clearly know to various media.
City already spend nearly 115 million euros in the transfer market this summer, thanks to the arrival of Sevilla duo Álvaro Negredo and Jesús Navas, Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk and the Montenegrin Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina. The Citizens begin next Monday the new season with a home game against Newcastle United.
